Nice bit of kit! May 29, 2010 Keith H. Slater (Belize - Central America) If you are looking for a stable, reliable home computer, this will fit the bill. Does not have lightening speed or any fancy 'bells and whistles' but it does what it promises on the box! Nice to save that extra space on the desktop too. One bonus, my wife thinks it's a really nice looking computer and fits in well with the furniture!
Best computer purchase I have ever made! April 17, 2010 OneMom (Great Lakes) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased this computer in in February 2010.
*Set-up was simply beautiful. Up and running within minutes. The wireless mouse and keyboard are the best I have ever used. The only piece of set-up that bugged me a little bit is that you have to make your own system disks - require DVD-RW disks. According to Gateway, this is their way of "being green". How green is it, if I still had to drive to the store, pay more money, utilize more packaging, and use up my time to still create systems disks.
*Aside from the disk issue, this is a fantastic computer. In addition to the wireless mouse and keyboard, the computer is also wi-fi for the internet. I have a belkin wireless network in our house. The Gateway computer is upstairs, the belkin router is downstairs, and I have had not one instance of the Gateway not signing into the network and functioning seamlessly on the internet.
*The touchscreen was the main reason I purchased this computer because it is primarily being used for our computer-based homeschool curriculum from Alpha Omega Publications. 2010 SOS, Grade 3, AOP 5-Subject Complete Set - Math, Language, Science, Bible & History / Geography (Alpha Omega HomeSchooling), Switched on Schoolhouse 3RD GRADE, CD CURRICULUMThe computer is used primarily by my 8-year old daughter for her school program - the ability to use the touchscreen for more direct interaction is fantastic for her. She has become a computer wizard thanks to the curriculum and this Gateway computer. My husband and I bemoan the fact that she has the best and coolest computer in the house (we will all be upgrading to this computer when a little extra cash comes in). Even my husband with his big fingers is finding the touchscreen easy and fun to use (he now understands how John King manages his "magic wall" on CNN).
*I have used this computer for photo editing, and it is simply beautiful and fun to use. The keyboard is a bit small for grown-ups, but since my 8-year old is the one using it the most, it is fine. When we add two more of these to our house, I will upgrade the wireless keyboard to a larger size (personally, I prefer a split keyboard).
My recommendation for this computer is BUY IT! If you are looking for a touchscreen (or even if you just want a sleek beautiful computer without wires cluttering up your desk), this is it! Even though Amazon seems to be perpetually out of stock with this computer, J&R sells it at the same price, and when I bought it in February, received free shipping from them as well. I cannot even count how many computers I have owned since 1995 (I'm a bit of a tech junkie), but this is the tops, hands down. Love it!
(I have marked this as an Amazon verified purchase because I did buy it through Amazon even though J&R filled the order.)

Could not be more satisfied. The touch screen fiture is amazing. The speed of the computer's functions is all that one could desire. I highly recommend this computer.
Nice looking desktop for my little office February 26, 2010 Altaf Sadruddin (Beaumont, Texas, USA) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I am very pleased with this purchase for my small business, as it looks very attractive and clean for my day to day work. I have only been using it for last couple of days and not sure how its going to perform or reliability of the product as this is the first time i am using any Gateway product.
First i bought Dell Studio19one but later decided to keep that Dell for my kids (age 5 and 7). I have always been using Dell products for last 10years and satisfied but this time i wanted to buy something different than buying the same kind of two computers (I am glad with my decision).
Review : This computer has bigger screen and very quite as compare to Dell. Hard drive is bigger and seems little faster than the Dell, though the RAM on both of them has 4GB. Dell processer is 2.7ghs as compare to Gateway's 2.2 but still i like this one better (may be i have used this one more than the Dell). Overall i am very satisfied with this Gateway and would definitely recommend this pruchase for $750, worth the money.
I will write the updates later after i learn all about it and see how good it works over the time. I still have to figure out alot of new features. The only thing bothers me is that they say 6 USB slots but out of those 6 slot, you have to use one for your wireless keyboard and mouse which suppose to be built-in. Another issue, while typing the passwords, i can not figure out if i have CAPS on or off. I don't know if there is any alternative for that but a little CAPS light on the keyboard would be great. I think i can live with these minor issues.
pretty good, but there is something kinda wrong February 24, 2010 Meng Vue (St. Paul, MN USA) 6 out of 26 found this review helpful
I wish I could make a video review, but I have no recording device.
My bro have an HD camera, I could make a video review and telling about the this touch screen Gateway PC.
Anyway, here's the deal about this touch screen PC.
It look good and neat, the screen might be in HD 720p, but doesn't really seen like it cause when I watch blu-ray movies, it doesn't really look blu-ray. Yeah I know, its the side, its only 20" compare to my 52" HDTV that make the difference.
Everything is good so far. I just got it today, it take like 8 days to get here lol because I pick free shipping I know. Anyway, let's not talk about the shipping, nothing to do with this computer.
So, the real problem was that when I first ever turn this computer on, everything work fine and fast. Connect wireless with my internet broadband and Linksy wireless device work fine. Only problem is that it was pretty slow compare to my 2 years old Sony laptop. I download a music file and it was was slower than my Sony laptop too.
Play for a few hours, turn it off and went to do other stuffs.
Then now I come back, it has only been 12 hrs that I just got this PC and lol, now it can't even connect to any network anymore.
No network is showing, nothing, can't connect to any network cause like I said, it show NONE at all now wow, pathetic as hell.
I try to create a connection, nothing is found, wtf? When my first ever turn this PC on, it see my Linksy wireless network and I can connect freely and even saw other people wireless device too, then suddenly now, it see no network device at all. Its getting on my nerve now.
So that's the only reason I don't give this PC a 5/5, not 4/5 as well because of what I said above.
Once I find a solution to get it back to work online, I will come back and change my review, as of now, its a 3/5 at best, brand new for only 12 hrs and network wasn't even working anymore, sad. I am just using my old Sony laptop to write this review, work so much better and faster. once I can go play online again on this computer, I will change it to 4/5.
I will call gateway tomorrow to see if they can help me fix the wireless connection, if not, I guess I'll just call amazon to see if I can get a refund cause I can't access the internet on this new PC anymore while I just write this review from my 2 years old Sony laptop which I said work easy as heck and connect online wireless with no problem but the new touch gateway can't anymore.
Update: 2/25/10
Now today it work again lol. I was about to call Gateway to see if they can help me, and before that, heh, it just work online again.
I'll see if it continually working or will not real anymore again, I will change my rating to 4/5 the next update.
Update: 2/27/10
Networking wireless work perfectly fine for now.
I will come back and update on how this PC is truly really good or not in the next few months.
Update: 5/2/10
This piece of junk just caught some virus and damn, there's nothing do to do fix the damn computer.
Can't even update at all.
This piece of junk is good at first, but wtf, now its mess up.
I got to call for help soon.
Piece of junk, you're lucky, I give you a 3/5.
Update: 5/27/10
Seen everything has been okay now so I change back to a 4/5.
I still think Vista has better virus protection than Window 7.
